We don’t know about you, but we are already starting to get the boating jitters again. Hup, boat out of the storage (or tarpaulin off) and off you go… Hold on, first a few things!

Before you start enjoying the beautiful weather on Dutch – or foreign waters, there are 5 things you should spend some time on.

  • Check the fluids
For inboard engines, check the coolant and the gearbox fluids.
For outboard engines, check the engine oil level.
  • (electric) Make sure your battery is fully charged

  • Check your anode

  • Check the fuel
Completely refuel the boat when it enters winter storage to prevent condensation. That way you can start off right away when the weather is nice!

Did you take all the steps? Then only one tip remains: always let the engine warm up first, especially after it has been lying still all winter.

Sail away!
