Alumax Boats Meppel has been commissioned by Watertaxi Rotterdam to build no less than seven new aluminum Water taxiboats in the next eighteen months. Four of these will have a capacity of forty passengers and two boats are suitable for 12 people and their bicycles. The new water taxiboats will be fully electric. One of the largest orders in the history of Alumax Boats was placed.

Alumax already built eight 12-person watertaxi’s for the well-known Rotterdam transport company. So with this new order, Alumax almost doubles its total at once. The new fleet will take over the existing Waterbus lines 18 and 19 and the Pont op Zuid starting January 1, 2022. Watertaxi Rotterdam was awarded this contract by the Minicipality of Rottedam, Metropolitan Region Rotterdam, The Hague and the Port of Rotterdam Authority.
