Friday, April 19, marked a historic milestone in Amsterdam’s cultural tourism with the official opening of the Cultuur Ferry. This innovative initiative, in which the Meppel boats from Alumax Boats play a crucial role, has come to fruition thanks to the collaboration between Rederij Mokum Boot and a large number of Amsterdam’s cultural institutions.<\/strong><\/p>\n The Cultuur Ferry takes passengers from Amsterdam Central Station on a hop-on hop-off experience along thirty cultural highlights of Amsterdam. With docking points in close proximity to museums such as the National Holocaust Museum, NEMO Science Museum, The National Maritime Museum, and Artis Zoo, visitors can easily embark and disembark to explore these attractions.<\/p>\n The festive opening was attended by representatives from the involved cultural institutions, local officials, and other stakeholders. Michael Huijser, chairman of the board of Cultuur Ferry and also director of The National Maritime Museum, expressed his enthusiasm for the project. “The Cultuur Ferry offers not only sustainable transport but also a rich experience for visitors. We are delighted to collaborate in promoting cultural tourism in Amsterdam,” Huijser said.<\/p>\n Among the guests were also representatives from Alumax Boats. Remko Germeraad, director of Alumax Boats, expressed pride in the collaboration with Mokum Boot Amsterdam and the addition of nine new electric tour boats to the fleet. Some of these tour boats are used for the Cultuur Ferry. “We are extremely proud of our longstanding partnership with Mokum Boot Amsterdam,” Germeraad said.
