Alumax Boats welcomes King Willem-Alexander during working visit to Port of Zwolle<\/h1>\r\nOn Wednesday afternoon, January 17, 2024, His Majesty King Willem-Alexander paid a visit to Meppel. A special honor for Alumax Boats, as a builder of aluminum (work) boats and water cabs, a circular product.\r\n\r\nThe royal working visit started at our shipyard, where the King took a look at our hull hall and experienced the art of building aluminum boats. A royal tour<\/h2>\n

During the visit, King Willem-Alexander spoke with our employees and showed interest in the various applications of our workboats. For example, he spoke to Daan about his work-and-learn course in our hull hall and climbed the stairs next to the Mokum Tug to ask Aron some questions as well. Our yard in the Meppel harbor is the birthplace of water cabs, electric tour boats and sloops, all of which meet the highest standards of design and functionality.<\/p>\n

Cooperation with Port of Zwolle<\/h2>\n

The working visit was part of a broader initiative in which the King spoke about cooperation in the areas of circularity, changing transport flows, economic development and administrative cooperation. Port of Zwolle, the joint port authority of the Zwolle, Kampen and Meppel municipalities, acted as host for this special occasion.<\/p>\n

A crown to our work<\/h2>\n

Jeroen van de Ende, CEO of Port of Zwolle, considered the King’s visit a “crown on our work.” The growth of Port of Zwolle in recent years, made possible in part by the cooperation between entrepreneurs, government and knowledge institutions, was given extra emphasis on this day. Van den Ende emphasized that cooperation is the DNA of Port of Zwolle and the region.<\/p>\n

Future-oriented cooperation<\/h2>\n

Mayor Richard Korteland emphasized Port of Zwolle’s efforts within the Region Deal Regio Zwolle. The strategic location and strengthening the investment climate are spearheads that Port of Zwolle is working on, with support from the state and Europe. These efforts form the basis for future-oriented cooperation.<\/p>\n
